Polypropylene is widely used in industry and one of the most popular materials for the pet collar and lead industry. The technical description on Wikipedia is:
Polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. It is produced via chain-growth polymerization from the monomer propylene.
Polypropylene belongs to the group of polyolefins and is partially crystalline and non-polar. Its properties are similar to polyethylene, but it is slightly harder and more heat resistant. It is a white, mechanically rugged material and has a high chemical resistance.[1]Polypropylene is the second-most widely produced commodity plastic (after polyethylene) and it is often used in packaging and labeling. In 2019, the global market for polypropylene was worth $126.03 billion.

Taking care of your webbing
To ensure the longevity and performance of your dog lead, follow these simple care instructions:
- Regular Cleaning: Wipe down the lead with a damp cloth after each use, especially if it has been exposed to mud or water. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and warm water.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach or strong detergents, as these can damage the material and affect the lead’s integrity.
- Air Dry: After washing, hang the lead to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can fade colours and weaken the fabric.
- Inspect for Wear: Regularly check your lead for any signs of wear or damage, such as fraying or weakened clasps. If you notice any issues, replace the lead to ensure your dog’s safety.
- Storage: Store your lead in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaving it in damp areas to prevent mould or mildew.
- Avoid Excessive Pulling: While our leads are designed for strength, excessive tugging can weaken the material over time. Train your dog to walk gently on the lead to prolong its life.
By following these care instructions, you can keep your Meg K9 dog lead in excellent condition, ensuring many enjoyable walks with your dog!
