The Training Lead Police Dog Style is a Double-ended Training Lead is a multi-functional, multi-length training and walking dog lead popular amongst dog owners and trainers. This lead is a favourite for when safety is paramount, used as a double leader for safety, attaching to a collar and harness.

What is a dog training lead?
A dog training lead also referred to as a police dog lead or multi-length lead, is a 2 metre lead with a trigger hook at each end and 2 O rings placed at intervals along the lead.
Halti by the Company of Animals made this lead famous. This type of lead is therefore sometimes referred to as a Halti Lead.
Meg Heath makes a similar lead (this page). Our unique qualities are our lead is made from a single piece of webbing rather than the rings being sewn on with a separate piece of fabric. All our rings are thick gauge and of course our Lifetime Guarantee.
Unique Design
Our Police Dog Style Dog Training Lead is a single piece of webbing. It does not have separate pieces of webbing to attach the O rings to it. So if the stitching on a section where an O ring is sewn in was to fail, your dog would still be safe. Most police dog style leads aren’t designed like this. We like to be different.

I was searching online for a very specific lead when I found Megs K9 Custom Dogleads website. It was exactly what I was looking for. A double ended lead with secure locking to stop my dog from “accidentally” unclipping himself! Have used this for a couple of weeks now and it’s been absolutely perfect. The only thing I would change would be a more cushioned material(I switched from a well known brand and it’s a bit less comfortable on my hand than theirs)although this would increase the price. The website was easy to navigate through, and product pages were informative. Checkout was easy and delivery was quick. Would highly recommend.

These leads are fabulous. Really strong, well positioned attachment points which are themselves really securely attached.
Great length, solid clips but not too chunky for a small harness or collar attachment.
Attaching to the collar and harness seems to take some of the power out of the dog pulling, she’s much easier to handle while we tackle this behaviour.

I bought a Police Dog training lead in chocolate brown. Delivery was very prompt. I have used the lead for dog walks, training, agility and even for attaching my dog to the campervan steps to keep her safe.

Bought a couple of Meg Heath dog collars a couple of months ago to replace the slightly worn out collars I had for 2 Coonhounds.
Was well impressed with the overall service from MHDL so when the time came to replace the dog leads guess who I came back to?
So, spoke to Sarah about getting a slightly longer version of the Police Dog style lead which she agreed could be made. Two leads were subsequently ordered from her and delivered with 2 days (very impressive!).

Just wanted to say that the leads you have supplied are brilliant.
They are strong enough to hold an overenthusiastic shepherd yet supple enough to hold easily without hurting my hands.
He responded immediately to a change in leads and is much more responsive to me.
I could do with a longer one to let him have a bit more leeway but overall we are very impressed.

Hi Sarah, just wanted to say how impressed I am with the leads and your customer service. Really appreciated the speedy delivery and updates on stock. The police lead is perfect for taking my whippet out in the woods, using it either as a double ended lead with harness and collar or making a handle out of one end and attaching to just the harness if I want to give her a bit more leeway. Hi Sarah,
I hope you know by now that I have nothing but praise for you and your products. I have been purchasing your Half Check Dog Collars and matching Training Leads (police dog style) for several years now, even though they WON’T WEAR OUT! I keep thinking I had better replace them after at least a year being used for around three hours each day, just in case they happen to break but it doesn’t happen! So I now have quite a collection but never mind, it is nice to have a new one every now and again. I actually made a mistake on my recent order and asked for 25mm width instead of my usual 19mm but it didn’t matter as either is fine for my long haired blue merle border collie Merlin. These collars and leads are really soft and comfortable for us both and as mentioned above, are really strong and long lasting.
Apart from brilliant products the customer service from meg heath dog leads is second to none, with speedy service and regular updates.
