Holiday Accommodation for people with multiple dogs

Holiday Accommodation for people with multiple dogs

That’s me.

I understand the challenge of securing accommodation that welcomes all your dogs.

I, too, have the delightful task of finding dog-friendly holidays for myself and my group of 7 dogs.

In the past, I was lucky to have someone care for my dogs, or I’d take a few with me. However, things have changed, and I now spend considerable time searching for short breaks for all of us.

It’s quite discouraging that many places, despite advertising as dog-friendly, restrict multi-dog owners to just 2 dogs.

Balmaghie (personal recommendation)

My top recommendation is Balmaghie Dog Friendly Holidays. They don’t impose a limit on the number of dogs, and the garden is securely fenced at 6 feet. You’ll also have exclusive access to an 18-acre woodland, which is fantastic!

Ferry Meadows Campsite Peterborough (personal recommendation)

Last year, I embarked on my maiden journey in the camper van, accompanied by 3 of my dogs. Ferry Meadows in Nene Valley is a charming spot, though it can get crowded during school holidays.

The campsite is picturesque, and you have the freedom to choose your pitch. There are several grassy spots ideal for those with dogs.

The amenities are top-notch, and everything you need is at hand, although there’s a nominal fee for Wi-Fi.

Pack Holidays (Haven’t visited)

By selecting ‘unlimited dogs’ on this site, you’re presented with a range of destinations in Norfolk (a 2.5-hour drive for me).

Genuinely Multi Dog Friendly Holidays for Dog Enthusiasts (Haven’t tried any of these yet)

Their description reads, “Seeking holiday accommodation that doesn’t merely tolerate dogs but wholeheartedly welcomes them. Many members own 3/4/5/6 or even more dogs”.

Lakeside Retreat Tallington (Haven’t visited)

The website’s statement regarding the number of dogs you can bring:

You’re welcome to bring any number or breed of dog to the Lakeside Retreat at Tallington, free of charge. The retreat offers a serene lakeside lodge in a rural setting with an enclosed grass garden, expansive sun deck, and all 5-star reviews. Dog Friendly website

Luxury 5 ⭐️ Lodge

Situated in a tranquil rural spot at the largest spring water fed lake at Tallington Lakes in Lincolnshire, this lodge offers parking for two cars, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and Wi-Fi. It’s a short drive from all amenities, ensuring an ideal holiday. The Lakeside Retreat is highly sought after, boasting expansive rural and lake views. It’s no surprise that Sykes Cottages ranked us 4th in their ‘best lakeside views’ feature!

Pets stay free at the Lakeside Retreat. The owner, a proud parent to 4 dogs and 2 cats, doesn’t charge for dogs, trusting guests to care for the property. Dogs are permitted on furniture, provided you bring your own bedding and throws. The kitchen features a full-sized freezer, ideal for those feeding their dogs a raw diet. There’s also an outdoor warm dog shower, complete with shampoo and towels for your dogs.

By prior arrangement, dogs can be left alone. The Retreat offers 4 crates for guests’ use, and dog sitting can be organised. The enclosed garden is safe even for small breeds. On-site, dogs must be leashed to protect local wildlife. There’s a link available to a site detailing local footpaths, and the owner has also researched and provided walk suggestions in the lodge.

Additionally, there’s a superb enclosed field available for booking. Links: Facebook – Instagram.
